In an official ceremony he will be awarded the degree of “Doctor Honoris Causa” by the famous architect Mario Botta. The recognition will be awarded by the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Sofia, Bulgary, May 16, 2016, at 10:30.
As a disciple of Le Corbusier and Louis Kahn, Mario Botta is among the best modernist architects in the world. He’s designed public buildings, civil and religious in Europe, America and Asia. The architect Mario Botta has already won several international awards, including the “Vergilus d’Oro”, a prestigious award instituted by Monotile Trading Italy in collaboration with the Association of Architects of Mantua. The aim is to promote integration between different cultures and multidisciplinary expertise in the design and eco-architecture. Architects like Dante O. Benini and Mario Botta – leading figures of world architecture – have already been among the first winners of the prize “Vergilus d’Oro”.
The Botta projects are architectural works that stand out for their size, strong geometry and spatiality. With in-depth study of different styles, Mario Botta select materials that can express the function and nature of the architectural structure.
